FanDuel and DraftKings expand partnerships with NBA to become official betting partners

US betting giants DraftKings and FanDuel have expanded their existing partnerships with the National Basketball Association (NBA) to become the league’s official betting partners.

Both expanded partnerships will also include additional marketing, content, and digital rights to integrate NBA assets across sports betting, online casinos, and daily fantasy sports verticals.

FanDuel’s partnership

Under FanDuel’s expanded partnership with the league, the operator will become an official sports betting partner of the NBA.

FanDuel also announced a multi-year partnership with the National Basketball Players Association, giving the company rights to feature active NBA player imagery across FanDuel’s content and highlights.

In addition, fans will now be able to choose to see FanDuel odds displayed on the Games page of NBA.com.

FanDuel will also become the exclusive presenting partner of the weekly NBABet Show co-produced by Turner Sports each Monday night on NBA TV.

Amy Howe, President & CEO, FanDuel Group said: “FanDuel’s partnership with the NBA has been a cornerstone of our success for many years, and together we have revolutionized what is possible in a partnership between a professional sports league and a sports gaming operator. As we move into the next phase of our relationship to include the NBPA, we are excited to once again reimagine how we engage basketball fans.”

Scott Kaufman-Ross, Senior Vice President, Head of Gaming & New Business Ventures, NBA said: “Throughout our seven-year partnership, we have consistently worked with FanDuel to innovate together around the fan experience. This expanded relationship marks the latest chapter of our story, and we look forward to leveraging these new initiatives to continue to engage fans in new ways.”

FanDuel is already the official sportsbook partner of NBA programming, after signing a deal with Turner Sports back in 2020. The operator also has partnerships in place with the NBA’s Detroit Pistons and Memphis Grizzlies.

DraftKings’ partnership

DraftKings will also become an official betting partner of the league and secure the right to use NBA assets in its online products.

The operator also announced it would become an exclusive presenting sponsor of NBABet Stream. This is the NBA’s betting-focused telecast which is distributed via NBA League Pass and the NBA TV app.

The US betting giant also has agreements in place with several NBA franchises, including the Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Boston Celtics.

“DraftKings has demonstrated a clear commitment to strategically investing at the intersection of betting and content,” said Scott Kaufman-Ross, Senior Vice President, Head of Gaming & New Business Ventures, NBA. “We are excited to be expanding our relationship to include content initiatives like NBABet Stream to engage NBA fans in unique ways.”

Ezra Kucharz, Chief Business Officer at DraftKings added: “The NBA season only just tipped off, and yet we have already seen the immediate impact of the sport among our customer base with significant reengagement along with healthy new betting activity across all of our states.

“All of this signals the rising demand for NBA basketball in its 75th anniversary season among sports bettors and daily fantasy players, and we are pleased to continuously collaborate with the league on new fan-centric platforms like our NBABet Stream integration.”
