Caesars inks betting partnership with Baltimore Ravens as Maryland sports betting launch nears

Caesars Entertainment has teamed up with the National Football League’s (NFL) Baltimore Ravens in a multi-faceted sports betting partnership.

This deal comes as the state of Maryland prepares to launch its legal sports betting market.

Caesars deal with the Ravens

Under the five-year agreement, Caesars Sportsbook will become a premier sports betting partner of the Ravens.

This deal builds upon the operator’s Horseshoe Baltimore property’s existing relationship with the Ravens.

The latest deal will provide Caesars’ recently relaunched sportsbook with naming rights throughout the club level of M&T Bank Stadium as well as additional exposure via animated displays across all of the stadium’s LED boards.

The sportsbook brand will also become the title partner of the team’s pre-game show, which broadcasts across its website, mobile app, and Facebook page. Caesars will also sponsor the team’s Flock Pick 6 predictions game and for all digital content related to the NFL Draft.

Chris Holdren, Co-President of Caesars Digital said: “We’re excited to grow our strategic partnership with the Baltimore Ravens by serving as the two-time Super Bowl champions’ official sports betting partner and expanding our role as the team’s only casino partner.

“This new agreement clearly establishes Caesars Sportsbook and Horseshoe Baltimore as the team’s most prominent sports betting partner and provides our customers with extraordinary access to Ravens games, signature events at M&T Bank Stadium, Ravens training camp – even the team’s away game trips and the Super Bowl.”

The Horseshoe Baltimore facility will benefit from the expanded relationship and be allowed to host an annual event at the M&T Bank Stadium, as well as pre-game events for up to 100 guests. The casino will also serve as title sponsor for the Ravenstown Saturday Night event.

Baltimore Ravens Chief Sales Officer Kevin Rochlitz said: “This agreement represents a bold expansion of the winning relationship we already share with Caesars and Horseshoe Baltimore.

“We are constantly exploring ways to create additional opportunities to engage with our fans and introduce our team to new audiences, while supporting the city we call home. In collaboration with Caesars and Horseshoe Baltimore, we are not only continuing to develop unique fan activations but also transforming the city’s Southern Gateway into a diversified entertainment district unavailable to sports fans in other NFL markets.”

Horseshoe Baltimore Senior Vice President and General Manager Randy Conroy added: “By growing our longstanding partnership with the Baltimore Ravens, we are able to provide our guests with even more of the legendary experiences the Horseshoe brand is known for.”

Another deal for the Ravens

This marks the latest deal for the Ravens who have already teamed up with DraftKings and BetMGM for sports betting.

The team has also agreed on a deal to use marketing tech from data specialist Sportradar.

The Ravens has also expanded into esports having signed an agreement with Esports Entertainment Group that will see the esports firm become the team’s official tournament provider.

Sports betting in Maryland

The partnership between Caesars and the Ravens comes as the state of Maryland makes preparations to launch legal sports betting.

Back in May, Governor Larry Hogan signed HB 940 into law, legalizing the activity. Under the legislation, sports betting would tax gross revenue at 15% and license applications would carry a $500,000 cost.

The introduction of the legislation was facilitated thanks to a statewide referendum in November 2020 which saw 66.2% of voters support legal sports betting in the state.
